Oculus co-founder and VR pioneer Palmer Luckey is leaving Facebook today, around three years after Oculus was acquired by the firm in a deal worth $2 billion.
“Palmer will be dearly missed. Palmer’s legacy extends far beyond Oculus. His inventive spirit helped kickstart the modern VR revolution and helped build an industry. We’re thankful for everything he did for Oculus and VR, and we wish him all the best,” reads a statement from Oculus given to Upload VR.
Facebook declined to comment, stating it is policy not to discuss internal personnel matters.
