Blade Strangers, a new fighting game published by Nicalis and developed by Studio Saizensen was announced at E3 2017.
The fighter, unveiled during Twitch’s official E3 livestream (via Nintendo Everything), was described as having a blend of Guilty Gear and Street Fighter’s speed with the input accessibility of Super Smash Bros.
Blade Strangers will release for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, as well as arcades in Japan.
The game will feature a number of familiar characters, including Curly from Cave Story, which is coming to Switch later this month, and Kawase from the Umihara Kawase franchise. Additionally, characters from Code of Princess (read IGN’s review), which was also developed by Studio Saizensen, will be featured in the game. Additional characters will be announced sometime in the future. There are also plans to support the game post-launch with new updates.
