Rock Band Blitz, the Rock Band game that you can play solely on a standard control pad, is being delisted from the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace sometime this month. In a post on its forums, Harmonix announced that the game would be delisted on or before August 28. Thankfully you can export the full 25-song tracklist to Rock Band 4 gratis, if you have that.
Rock Band Blitz will be delisted pretty much five years to the date of its release, that’s if it even makes it to August 28. The reason for the delisting of this game is in all likelihood tied to the expiring of licensing for the music used in the game.
In its brief statement Harmonix informed users about the game’s delisting, and the process for retaining the game’s content in Rock Band 4, ‘After a good gap, it’s that time again. The demo and full game for Rock Band Blitz will be coming down on or before August 28th. Released in 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, it’s not backwards compatible on either Xbox One or PlayStation 4 (nor will it be in the future), but all 25 songs on the soundtrack can be brought over to Rock Band 4 at no additional charge. The steps for that process can be found here’.
