Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski may want to look away now, because Lawbreakers player counts (following its release on PC two days ago) are available, and they’re not very good. Despite some user positive reviews the game has seen a drop of 60% below that of the game’s first beta back in June.
According to Steam figures obtained by Githyp, Lawbreakers managed to muster a paltry peak figure of 3,019 players, compared to 7,500+ during the beta period, failing to break into the top 100 games on Steam. For comparison’s sake, Battleborn’s player count at launch was 12,000, and we all know how well that turned out.
It’s important to note that it’s common for games to experience a drop off from a free beta to a paid launch, but this is a pretty drastic dropoff for what’s considered to be a decent game. Even more so, when you consider that the launch period is always the most active time on a game, which makes you worry about the future for Lawbreakers.
